My Uncle Liberated Auschwitz

Justin Higgins — Tue, 2008-05-27 15:27

Barack Obama, in a speech in New Mexico, said that his uncle was one of the first American forces to go into, and liberate, the concentration camp at Auschwitz. Let's go ahead and take a look at the Messiah making the claim:

I applaud Barack Obama's uncle, except, my knowledge of history and geography clashes a bit. I thought Auschwitz was located in Poland, which is east of Germany. >I turn to Ace to explain that very-meaningful detail:

Auschwitz of course is in Poland. It was liberated by the Red Army on Jan 27 1945. Poland, on most maps is usually placed to the east of Germany, although we may need to investigate the geography textbooks the Messiah used as a child...

The Allies were wrapping up the battle of the bulge in late January of 1945 -- the Rhine crossings were still well into the future when Auschwitz was liberated. The first, the Remagen railway bridge which was discovered intact, was crossed on March 7 1945.

Ace then jokes that the only way Barack's uncle could've liberated Auschwitz is if he was in the Red Army. This was before the video came out and put a stop to even that possibility, since Barry O. said his uncle was amongst the first Americans to liberate the camps. Lie much? Credibility.

Hussein and Hobbits

Justin Higgins — Mon, 2008-04-07 12:32

I have no problem with calling Barack Obama his full name, Barack Hussein Obama. It's part of his heritage, a heritage he embraced at that, and it's only offensive if you believe that Islamic culture is offensive. I'm willing to bet that those who know the truth about the Religion of Pieces aren't Obama supporters to begin with. The Hussein drama though is funny, especially when it comes from the Left:

ROTR- Sean Astin, Hillary SupporterWhen Clinton’s surrogate finally showed up he was… Sean Astin??? Yes, the man who played Samwise Gangee in Lord of the Rings had flown up to rally the Hillary Clinton troops. Which made very little sense, given that the type of people who show up for legislative district caucuses on a Saturday don’t really need a celebrity (or semi-celebrity) to motivate them to take political action.

Astin’s speech was most memorable for this line: “Should Obama get the nomination I will become a massive Barack Hussein Obama supporter.”

Michelle was quoting a left-wing blog that was covering the Seattle area event. She goes on to talk about the outrage in the crowd, and then the kicker, a failed attempt to partake in the Pledge of Allegiance. You couldn't script a more classic liberal event, filled with faux outrage, faux patriotism, and faux Democracy. The kicker of it all:

Further proof of this: There was some time to kill as multiple tallies of the delegates and alternates were done, and when the time-killer of taking audience questions had run its course and the idea of teling jokes had been nixed, someone suggested doing the Pledge of Allegiance to pass the time. (Are you listening, right-wing bloggers? This is going to get good.)

At the mere mention of doing the pledge there were groans and boos. Then, when the district chair put the idea of doing the Pledge of Allegiance up to a vote, it was overwhelmingly voted down. One might more accurately say the idea of pledging allegiance to the flag (of which there was only one in the room, by the way, on some delegate’s hat) was shouted down.

Absolut Disgrace

Justin Higgins — Sat, 2008-04-05 12:26

Michelle Malkin has been chronicling Absolut Vodka's reconquista ad campaign. According to the company, they are only running the ad in Mexico, and it's designed to cater to a Mexican audience. Michelle has also updated us on her readers responding to the ridiculous ad. Check out the ad:

Michelle to Michelle: Say What You Mean

Justin Higgins — Wed, 2008-02-20 12:32

Michelle Obama's blatant anti-American comments aren't being overlooked, and her original plan to ignore the firestorm until it subdued hasn't worked. Barack made an attempt to clarify her remarks today. Michelle Malkin took on Michelle Obama in her most recent syndicated column:

ROTR- Michelle Obama's SentimentsMrs. Obama’s statement was met with warm applause from other Barack supporters who have apparently also been devoid of pride in their country for their adult lifetimes. Or maybe it was just a Pavlovian response to the word “change.” What a sad, empty, narcissistic, ungrateful, unthinking lot.

I’m just seven years younger than Mrs. Obama. We’ve grown up and lived in the same era. And yet, her self-absorbed attitude is completely foreign to me. What planet is she living on? Since when was now the only time the American people have ever been “hungry for change?” Michelle, ma belle, Barack is not the center of the universe. Newsflash: The Obamas did not invent “change” any more than Hillary invented “leadership” or John McCain invented “straight talk.”

We were both adults when the Berlin Wall fell, Michelle. That was earth-shattering change.

Meanwhile, Michelle is receiving some nasty hate mail from Obama supporters who weren't exactly happy with her taking Mrs. Obama to task. Let's just say, language warning, for some of the most racially disgusting comments I've ever seen. This serves as a lesson to all involved in politics, and that's mean what you say and say what you mean.

Democrats Push for International Abortion

Justin Higgins — Tue, 2008-02-12 18:48

Last Thursday, I received an e-mail from Congressman Boehner's office detailing how the Republican Minority is opposing efforts of the Majority to divert AIDS-prevention funds to abortion groups. They were urging the Democrats to send a clean bill to the President. Here was what the e-mail said:

ROTR- Planned Parenthood InternationalPEPFAR was crafted in a wholly bipartisan way, demonstrating our shared commitment to fighting the global AIDS pandemic. Unfortunately, that bipartisan accord is in great danger because the Majority is attempting to shift critical PEPFAR funds away from valuable prevention programs and toward international organizations that promote and provide abortions. I will strongly oppose any effort to divert funds dedicated to fighting HIV/AIDS abroad to programs that support abortions overseas.

I wanted a few more details before I wrote a post on the story, so I requested a list of organizations that would benefit from the funding. Boehner's folks responded with a list including Global Aids Alliance, Population Action International, International Planned Parenthood Federation, Advocates for Youth, and Interact Worldwide. Planned Parenthood is obviously the most liberal and pro-active when it comes to abortion. I support the Minority's push to stop money from going to these groups.
