Back From The Ohio State University
Justin Higgins — Fri, 2008-07-25 16:28
I just got back from visiting my new home over the next four years, The Ohio State University. I'm incredibly excited to be able to study Political Science and Communications in Columbus, and I'm looking forward to ROTR changing and adapting to my experiences there. I'll have a lot of new stories and new opportunities. For now, let's grow that Buckeye pride by sharing some football highlights from OSU's game vs. Ohio's garbage can from a few years back:

oh please-
looneyontheleft — Tue, 2008-07-29 14:26-Broad generalizations and hate-mongering are the hallmark of most any political blog comments section, especially this one.
Justin is used to me being a shithead. I have been spreading hate, misinformation and sarcasm on here for about a year now, so regular readers, all three of them, know my tone well. I realize just meeting Justin got you all excited and tingly about the blog, but maybe you should hold your tongue until you know who's who, what's what and who is serious and who is farting about on here(not that its my place to say that, but you jumped on me). I mean, just reading a few more of my comments would have answered any questions about my seriousness or how the comments should have been taken.
You really should do some homework before you start criticizing folks in a small community such as ROTR.
But let me welcome you to ROTR! Your seriousness will be well-appreciated around here.
And if Justin is looking to me for courteous and worthwhile discourse, he has more problems than just his political leanings would indicate! ;)
(I put the wink in there so you know I'm kidding)
There is far too much anger
Kevin McKenna (not verified) — Mon, 2008-07-28 23:35There is far too much anger and inane stereotyping going on here to hold a legitimate and civilized discussion. I met Justin at college orientation last week and my initial assessment of his values leads me to believe that he would appreciate more courteous and worthwhile discourse than what you have yet offered.
Plus, you're warning someone whom you judge to be young and impressionable against treacherous of subversive persuasion by casting broad generalizations at best - single-minded hate-mongering at worst. If you're genuinely interested in sculpting the ideologies of the youth, maybe you would be better poised to do so from a position less laiden with contrarieties of principle.
And before you try to defend your rant as humor or sarcasm, take it from a lover of both that neither translates well into text. A case in point might be if I typed to you: "Way to show your maturity, jackass."
Be careful
looneyontheleft — Mon, 2008-07-28 22:31I was rather conservative before I went away to university, so be careful! Those college professors are very expert in using their almost Jedi-like powers in turning 18-19 year old kids of red-blooded American conservative thoughts and deeds into whiney, hate-america firsters who look at the world in terms of the powerful abusing the powerless and of corporate economics being a factor in world events and US relations with said world.
Be careful! Those liberals are tricky!!!!!!!! And those biases are contagious! If you're not careful, you might end up thinking weird things like the US should have told Sukarno to get the hell out of East Timor or that -gasp- maybe the US hasn't been a fair broker in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict or maybe you'll have weird thoughts like maybe fascism wasn't defeated in WW2 totally as the US supported plenty of facist states post-WW2....Or whatever liberal, campus cause celeb is the flavor during your education.
It is scary the amount of total BS those turtleneck-wearing, bearded, pipe-smoking (and that might not be tobacco in there!), coed seducing profs might get you into if you're not careful.
So in the words of my favorite imaginary fascist, 'Be Pure, Be Vigilant, BEHAVE!'
Good luck at OSU
Norma (not verified) — Mon, 2008-07-28 06:39Don't let them turn you into a liberal. Most faculty at major universities don't hide their biases, so you'll be able to tell.
What's Justin done for his country?
mea.tbr.ain (not verified) — Sun, 2008-07-27 19:41By all means, Blueiz, enumerate for us the long, long list of services Justin Higgins has rendered his country. We could all use the laughs.
OSU
looneyontheleft — Sun, 2008-07-27 19:01You know me, all I can say is GO BUCKS! There is nothing better then watching Ohio State football on a fall day with a cold beer in one hand, a remote in the other, and wearing your favorite players jersey.
OSU
Blueiz — Sun, 2008-07-27 11:33Congratulations, Justin.... You will be putting your talents to great use at OSU... you have done more for the country than most people your age... Poli Sci and Communications... what a great combo... OSU is the right choice... develope your talents and serve this country well.... Go, Buckeyes!
Always someone else's fault
mea.tbr.ain (not verified) — Sun, 2008-07-27 08:28The unintentional hilarity factor of Anonyfool's post is nearly off the scale. Justin cheerleads the war, Justin makes big brave noises about how he will enlist -- but someone else is at fault when Justin fails to follow through on his rhetoric.
Thanks for the laugh, Anonyfool.
You Conservative Idiot!
Anonymous (not verified) — Sat, 2008-07-26 12:27I hate you conservatives, pushing other people's children into war like you're trying to with justin. You're a bunch of freaking nazis that love war so much that you troll internet forums to get people there.
Justin won't fight for his country
mea.tbr.ain (not verified) — Fri, 2008-07-25 22:48"I'm only 16, and I will enlist at 18 if we are still conducting major combat operations."
Easier to let someone else go to Iraq, and fight, and possibly die, isn't it, Justin? Easier to sit, safe and secure, in Columbus, isn't it, Justin?
"I plan on enlisting you idiot. I’ve made that clear."

You're a liar and a coward, Justin. You always have been, and you always will be. You pimp for a war that other people's children fight, and die in -- but you absolutely will not even consider fighting it yourself.
