Consider Me Enlisted
Justin Higgins — Sat, 2006-04-29 22:01
My opponents on the Left constantly criticize me, and many other Conservatives, for supporting the war but not fighting it. Because of my age, I'm constantly asked if I intend to enlist when I turn 18. To be honest, I don't know yet, but that doesn't change the fact that the War in Iraq is right. Well, there is an information war going on, and I'm fighting it. The phrase "101st Fighting Keyboardists" is an attack used often by the left. Captain's Quarters has adapted it in a new way. Consider me a member.
Our friends on the port side of the blogosphere have had quite a time tossing around funny little nicknames for those of us who support the war on terror and use our blogs to express our convictions about it. We've seen the names here at CQ in the comments section -- the term "chickenhawk" has appeared more than once, and others in the blogosphere have assigned us to a unit called the 101st Fighting Keyboardists.
He goes on to talk about how he can't enlist, given his age. While he's on the older side of the spectrum, I'm on the younger side. We do what we can to fight the information war, and we are mocked for it. Talk about a lowly talking point. Where would this new unit be without a badge of honor?

There is nothing wrong with people supporting the war who aren't serving in the military. We simply make decisions and express our convictions. I'm fighting the war here at home.
I've sent my request to join the blogroll, and for those interested in how many people have joined the 101st, check this out:
